The program for 2019 Minkiö Steam Festival
The festival grounds are open on Saturday and Sunday on July 27 and 28 from 10.30 to 17.00. Ticket sales will close on both days at 16.00.
Saturday

- Opening ceremony (The eleventh Minkiö Steam Festival will be declared open with a quire of steam wisthles)
- Along the day:
- Differrent steam machines are running, the oldest running steam locomotive in Finland -H.K. Porter is pulling a train and carring people around the festival ground, and small scale steam engines and trains on the children's area. Days musical program is taken care by Velleri with his accordion and guitar.
- 16.00
- Ticket sales are closed.
- 17.00
- The festival closes for the night. The gates of festival ground are closed.
Sunday
- 10.30

Days musical program is taken care by Pirkanmaa Timber Jacks Association.

- The festival closes for the night. The gates of festival ground are closed.
What there is to see and do?
- Take a steam train to Jokioinen station and visit the park of the Jokioinen estates or take a free coach to Forssa. You can also the a train to Humppila station and visit the old railroaders cottage "Talvisen Mökki" nearby Humppila station (open on Sunday).
- Take a look at old time steam engines and stationary petrol engines at the Minkiö station festival grounds and watch work demonstrations. Engines are powering eg. circular saw and threshing machine.
- Follow firemen using the steam powered fire engine
- Try horse riding there will be a possibilty to try horeback riding without extra fee!
- For the smallest of the family there is a children's ground where you can see model railways and miniature steam engines.
- Eat at the restaurant tent and have a coffee at the snack area and enjoy your own picknick at the picknick ground next to Minkiö station.
What does it cost?
- A single one day festival ticket for adults 15 euros, two day ticket costs 20 euros
- A single one day festival ticket for children (4–16 years) 5 euros, two day ticket 10 euros, for under 4 year old the entrance is free
- Tickets are for sale at the gates of the festival ground, onboard the trains and at Jokioinen and Humppila stations. The tickets are valid for entrance in the festival and onboard all trains of Jokioinen Museum Railway. Please prepare the exact amount in cash. Card payments are only accepted at the Minkiö station ticket sales at the actual steam festival grounds.
